The way my insurance person explained it to me today... if we had
reported THAT tree as a diseased or damaged tree (a 'danger' tree)
and the owner did nothing and then when it fell the owners insurance
would come into play. If it's just one of the 30 or so trees that are
within range of the house or garage or whatever it's an "act of God".

FWIW if I'd had compressive on the '91 Jetta then my insurance would
have had to deal with it, and the minor damage on the garage would be
covered by my home owners insurance if I wanted to deal with the $500
deductible.
