The unistrut material is available at most electrical or plumbing supply houses, source it locally to avoid shipping. Cut it to desired length, attach Q & E feet to it through the pre-punched holes, clamp onto rain gutter. Done, instant rack. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Hundt" <dhundt@bendbroadband.com> To: "Robert Stewart" <robertmstewart@MAC.COM>; <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, June 01, 2009 10:55 PM Subject: Re: Homemade roof rack > Quick and Easy rack feet > http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product_list.asp?deptid=1379 > > Unistrut type punched channel tube support for crossbar > http://secure2.data-comm.com/servlet/RBIS/-strse-Electrical-cln-Conduit-Mounting-cln-Strut-Channel/Categories > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Robert Stewart" <robertmstewart@MAC.COM> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Monday, June 01, 2009 10:33 PM > Subject: Re: Homemade roof rack > > >> Does anyone have any links for what you are all talking about in >> regards to these brackets and unistrut channels? >> >> Thanks, >> Robert >> >> On May 29, 2009, at 11:20 AM, mordo wrote: >> >>> Most electrical conduit I've seen wouldn't make much of a roof rack. >>> >>> >>> >>> I agee with that assessment. >>> >>> I use the QNE brackets with Unistrut channel for the cross bars.
