that 45 mph thing.... which has been on U-haul trailers for decades..... kinda a joke.......cause in some places driving only 45 makes you a serious traffic hazzard. 55 I can see. but people going by at 80 + while you're towing at 45 mph in the right lane ?? ....not safe baby, not safe. The closer the relative speeds, the safer it is. ( not that people don't totally loose control of trailers and roll the whole thing into a expensive mess, at low speeds too - happens all the time actually ) They'd be further ahead to emphasize tire pressure I think, than max speed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Rodgers" <inua@CHARTER.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, June 01, 2009 8:21 AM Subject: Re: Towing Syncro Westy on Rental Trailer > Steve, > > I towed my 88 GL totally laden with everything I owned at the time - > from Clinton OK to Birmingham, AL on one of those full length auto > trailers.
