Any decent fabric store will have them. They're generically referred to
as "line 24 snaps" (24 refers to the size) and the piece you want is
the "post." But, you'll almost always find them in full sets.

The standard posts have a hole in the middle, just take one to a
hardware store and get the right size sheet metal screw. That's all the
stock VW ones are.
