Thanx Mark and Robert for your clarity! And interesting to learn about that starter solenoid ground route.
Here's where I'm at:
- Checked voltage at D spade on my alt and got 0.12v with the engine running.
- The relay was not wired correctly.
So I plan to get an aux bat wiring kit from GW and a new relay. GW has a 'second bat relay' that looks remarkably similar to what Bently calls 'frig heater relay'. Are these indeed the same?
And get a rebuilt Bosch alt ($91 at my FLAPS for an Autolite brand Bosch rebuild, comes with a lifetime warranty and a 24 month '24/7 Roadside assistance' garrunty!). Does sound like it will be my fix?
Can my alt be fixed to provide current to the blue wire spade and keep it for a good spair for the cost of the core charge? It does keep my starter bat up.
thanx again to this great list!
