it's like this .......... what is better ? a spot that can rub, that includes a critical part like a gasoline fuel line under 32 psi that can rub, but it's rubber-protected, or ........no spot to rub at all in the first place ! ? that's a 'duh-no brainer' for sure in my world. And what I am looking for all the time........ as reliable and dependable as we can possibly get them, plus easy to work on. - just like a race car. Simple is good. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Meeks" <vanagon@gmail.com> To: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@turbovans.com> Cc: <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> Sent: Saturday, June 06, 2009 8:36 PM Subject: Re: Grommet for fuel hole in fire wall On Sat, Jun 6, 2009 at 3:20 PM, Scott Daniel - Turbovans<scottdaniel@turbovans.com> wrote: > the other philosophy, which works absolutely perfectly with anything > that's > floppy ..........like fuel hose.........is try not to mount it 'too well' > ..........mount it little loose, so no forces can generate on it. - - , FWIW, The grommet Robert sourced fits the hole in the firewall perfectly while allowing plenty of room around the fuel hose. There will be no chafing or rubbing with this set-up. I installed one today and am happy with the result.
