Pump air quite a few times, start igniting (clicking), *then* push and hold yellow button. One tip I read of recently. Even though I installed the handy dandy 182A flame meter on my 182B, I find it reasuring to actually look to check if flame on. So if it's daytime.... To see if flame on, use a cardboard tube. Haven't tried it yet, but even if it's daytime, I'd bet that one would stand a better chance of seeing the flame. And, one would also stand a better chance of seeing if flame gets bigger when fridge warm, and thermostat turned up. Or one could just wait til night fall.... ;) Neil. -- Neil Nicholson '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines
