I recently found that both my replacement rear brake cylinders were bad
(from 2 or 3 years ago).
Peter at Volks Caf (or Van Caf or Folks Caf or whatever VW is forcing
them to name themselves) figured this out, that they were part of a "known"
problem manufacturing run by an after market supplier. I believe mine were
stamped "EB" on the side. He replaced them, problem went away.

Subject: No brakes

On the way home this afternoon, I put my foot on the brake pedal and It went
to the floor!! Luckily I had plenty of room to get around the guy in front
lol. If I pump the pedal, I get my brakes back.

I checked the master cylinder when I got home and it is full. I have good
brakes now so am wondering if maybe it jut had a air pocket or trash in the
line that kept the brakes from working and now it's cleared it self from the
line.

It doesn't make any difference if the car is running or not so it's not the
power boaster. I am sure it's the master cylinder.

What is a good one cost? I think it's easy to fix my self.

Also, I understand that the reservoir for the master cylinder is not
available any more.
