I've seen (owned) two different beds: a Westy one where you lift the
seat front and pull forward, and the back lies down into the vacated
space; and an '89 White Star one where you fold the back forward and
then pull the whole assembly forward and drop the back down into the
vacated space -- if either one of those is a Z-bed I'm guessing the
second one is.
