This is a great winter tire, especially for the money. Down there though you
will drive right through them.
What size wheels do you have again? I can think of a number of lower cost
alternatives.

What do you all thin of running this tire in a dry/wet (Alabama) climate
as opposed to a snowy climate. (northern states and  Alaska).

I need new tires badly - these are a good price, but they really are a
snow tire, but the size and price is right.
