That explains a lot, Mike.  I wonder if those slotted pieces pull out
or screw out.  I tried to unscrew one and only my screwdriver gave in.
 My shims are on the outside and I suppose if I added enough it would
have the same effect, but it looks like it would take between 6 and 8
1mm shims to do the job.
