This is a common problem that I would hope Jim has spent some time on.
Like to think he spent less time then I have but this is a solution in the archives...   Wrap a tire chain around the drum.   You may need to use a bolt to tighten the wrap.   And then hammer on the chain to pop the drup from its fit on the axel   I need to do this before my trip up to missoula to check my rear brakes.   Let me or Jim know if you have any problems.   gary
