In Phoenix. C'mon, Volks -- it's a playhouse, not a car. I'm sure it has all the necessary placards like TO ESCAPE FROM INTENSE HEAT INSIDE, OPEN WINDOWS AND/OR DOORS. Which reminds me of long(ish) ago when catalytic converters were new and we weren't comfortable with them yet -- Consumers' Union complained about a certain GM car because it didn't have an overheat warning for the CAT. They asked GM about it and GM replied to the effect that by the time the car filled with smoke and the carpet caught fire, the driver should be aware that the CAT had overheated. They laid it out in three stages; unfortunately I don't remember precisely what the first two were. -- David Beierl - Providence RI USA -- http://pws.prserv.net/synergy/Vanagon/ '89 Po' White Star "Scamp"
