Subject:Re: Reconditioned Battery Opinions?

Over the years I have discharged 6 volt golf cart batteries to zero
volts and had them come back. I have had 6 volt batteries run dry and
exposed the plates for weeks. Add water, put them on a good charger,
they come back. They last for years and take a lot of abuse. Costco
has a good price, but NAPA sells them too (Interstate re-labels) and
NAPA stores are everywhere.

Maybe the new Optima batts are better, but I don't have the money
around to experiment. My nearest battery store doesn't stock them
because he can't afford to.

I run solars at 128 watts and a Air X 400 watt wind generator (Sam's
Club $600) that really pumps. Bought longer blades on eBay and it's
quieter and puts out at lower wind speeds. A 2000 watt inverter
completes the setup- oh, also put a ethernet bridge on an old sat dish
and get wifi over a mile away.
Looks like moonbase, heh heh...
