I'm about to give the CV's new grease and boots. Did it last in '98 when swapping in the 1.9TD engine so it is about time again. One boot got torn in my last trip.
I've heard that some reinstall the drive shaft so that the inner CV becomes outer and vice versa. Idea being that it will now wear on a new surface when torque is applied during driving. Is this a good idea?
Anyone has had problems with flipping them like this?
B.t.w. Here is Tom's excellent description and pictures of the process.
