I have the the factory pigtail on my 1.9 84 & have not had the Vanagon
Syndrome since I installed it  3-4 years ago, w/ 10's of thousands of
miles.  I bought it from a list member that I forget now, but it
immediately stopped the bucking that I would frequently get when I
pushed the engine into headwinds, etc. on long trips.
