Folks, failure of this plastic coolant tower can be catastrophic to your engine, as evidenced by this post. If there was a top ten list of these types of failures, this one would make the top ten, I think. I have to take this opportunity to plug shamelessly, an outfit who is out there working to make our vans more reliable. This is a known weakness in our machines and these guys have done something about it : http://www.rockymountainwesty.com/VanagonWaterboxerParts.htm I purchased one of these for my stock Syncro (after it failed and left me stranded for one weekend, of course,) and it fit like a glove. I will be purchasing one for my new to me Westy, this week. Don't leave home without it! I have no stake in RMWesty.......I'm just trying to help. Good luck, Miguel On Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 10:16 AM, Jeff Lincoln<magikvw@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> Did Rerun need a little familiarization with you? >> > > Yeah well there were a few things to get used to - and it started with a > pulsing idle today - but we'll work those things out :) > > > -- > Thanks, > > Jeff > '90 Carat (Grover) > '86 (We call this one Parts) > '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus >
