" ...it started dripping again. So I switched it off." On my '87 Westy the A/C is sometimes marginal and needs a periodic recharge but there has never been a dripping problem, though the PO told me she did have this problem and her brother fixed it. When I had the cabinets out for soundproofing I found that he had strapped the drip tray up under the evaporator using two pieces of perforated metal strap that loop under the tray to support it andthey arescrewed to the ceiling. With this changethe drip hoses run "downhill" toward the vents and healso cut slots in the cabinet sides so the hosescould run at a steeper angle down to the left and right sides. This seems to prevent puddling and tray overflow. I have not seen the Vanagon A/C setupin an original configuration, but this one certainly seems to work. Three years and zero drips. Stephen --- On Fri, 8/28/09, Steve Williams <sbw@SBW.ORG> wrote: From: Steve Williams <sbw@SBW.ORG> Subject: Re: AC Repair report To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Date: Friday, August 28, 2009, 11:00 AM At 09:47 PM 8/27/2009, Michael Hart wrote: > ...
