What I have read is: No !

That said,
I do apply a little light oil
and then wipe it off with a rag.
But, this is just me and could very well be wrong?
I hoping to find out myself ! ;o)
Had All the lug nuts come off of my 53 chevy once (vandals)
not a nice experience!
