A trip to Newfoundland is on our to-do list but 2010 is reserved for a
Wedding in Calgary, AB

A quick suggestion.  Be absolutely sure to visit Cape Saint George,
NL.  Drive to the very western-most tip of that peninsula and you'll
find a strange, nearly abandoned park with some picnic tables, etc.
Drive until you can't drive anymore and you will be completely
astounded at what you see and how you get to experience it.  If a
place like that existed in Ontario, it would be provincially
maintained, you would have to pay $10 to access the park and there
would be man-made barriers everywhere.  In Newfoundland, it's a whole
different story.

Google Maps will quickly find it for you and will even show you a few
thumbnails of what you can expect to see.
