I believe this plastic connector is bolted to the engine firewall using 10mm screws. I think the screws are inserted and tightened or loosened from the engine side. One end of the connector sticks through from the engine side to the transmission side of the firewall and the fuel line attaches to this side from the fuel filter/pump. You can replace the plastic adapter without jacking the vehicle. It's easier to access the transmission side of the adapter from under the vehicle. A lot of people replace this adapter with steel tubing. I for one replaced my adapter with the OEM adapter. I don't guess it really matters as long as there is no fuel leak when you get done. Can it be replaced from the engine side? Or do you have to do it from below? Does the van need to be on a lift? Or jacked up on one side? I need to do it but can't quite figure out how to go about it. Deke 86" Westy
