that's an interesting way to get heat out of an air-cooled Porsche 911 engine ..... it says the front and rear original heater cores were replaced with "oil coolers and fed via themostatic control". that's quite clever it it works well. Would not have occured to me to do it that way. and should one of those oil coolers/'heater cores' or hoses leak oil in the cabin .... that could be messy. $ 7K for used 1984 Porsche 911 engine ........yikes ! But it's not even a Westy ! I like that style of wheel for some reason. muffler sure sticks out there. 3.2 liters of 6 cylinder Porsche power .... that should deliver some real decent power for a vanagon, I must say. ----- Original Message ----- From: "W Monk" <billmonk@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, October 14, 2009 3:51 PM Subject: Anyone seen this van in person > Has anyone seen this syncro in person? > http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=859636 > Its local to me and would like to go look at just to see what they did.
