I'm no mechanic, but my trusted mechanic had to install a resistor to get accurate temp readings on my gauge. FWIW. It wasn't registering at all when I bought it. He's got it set up so at normal operating temp, it is in the middle, or ever so slightly below. Seems to be working well. Melissa Mourkas '84 Westy Honey Bee Sacramento, CA
