Usually a MC can be "pumped up" by depressing the brake pedal a few times. If you got air, that trick won't work. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of neil n Sent: Sunday, October 25, 2009 4:06 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Brakes still going to the floor On Sun, Oct 25, 2009 at 2:59 AM, William Greenamyer <greenamyer@yahoo.com> wrote: > Thanks for all the inputs. Keep any additional ideas coming. For the sake of online diagnosis.... :) Was there any difference in how pedal felt when it sank to floor 1st time, and now with new MC installed? Put another way, a mushy (aka spongy = air in system) pedal can be pushed to the limit w/o much effort. But if pedal sinks *easily*, thats a different thing. I would suspect some kind of fault with the MC. -- Neil Nicholson '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engine s
