Well let's see.  I pulled into Van Cafe in Santa Cruz late last January and
pulled out less than an hour later with a new alternator installed, w/ new
belt, and had the oil filter changed at the same time.  Total, with labor,
was just under $200 IIRC.  So that seems high to me...
