Can someone point me to a close-up photo of the hatch curtain rods,
top and bottom, where they attach to the hatch?  My '84 is missing
those rods, so I can't mount the hatch curtain.

(Is the bottom a rod?  Or just a cord pulled through the curtain?)

I think I found some aluminum stock at the hardware store that'll
work, 1/8-inch by 3/8-inch.  But I can never remember how the ends of
the rod are bent to meet up with the screw holes in the hatch.

If I see a Vanagon with rear curtains, I might ask the owner to let
me take some photos.
