RE: Entering lat/lon on a GPS and /or having it displayed
Mr. Squirrel makes a good point here.  Any GPS unit should be able to take
direct input of lat/lon and also be able to display the lat/lon of the
current position BUT that is not the case (in at least one unit I spent time
with).  On others I've looked at (and the one I'm using now, a Garmin 7200)
such features may be buried in an obscure menu or not obvious.  And small
screens are a real pain if trying to use in the vehicle, at least for me.
That's why I bit the bullet and went to the more expensive unit intended
only for use in a vehicle.  And I'm quite happy after several trip, one very
long one.
