Subject:Re: Sliding Door Handle Part?

Thanks, Pascal.

BD has a photo of the 85 and later escutcheon, and it's not the same as
what I have here on my 84. My 84 part looks like the Trim Ring shown in
Bentley's. I think what happened is that VW added a "A" suffix to the Trim
Ring part when it became the Escutcheon. BD only lists the part without
the suffix, but it's clearly the later model Escutcheon.

So, what I have on my van is an 1984 handle and trim ring. The door panel
is not original, no telling why it was replaced. I'm missing the seal.

Wouldn't the trim ring be handy for keeping water out. Like rainwater?

The stupid Schuck's FLAPS on NE 3rd St. does not have ANY Loctite. Unless
you want to buy a large bottle for $22. All I need is one stupid drop of
the blue stuff before I re-mount the panel. I gotta check the other FLAPS
to see who is bothering to keep small bottles of the stuff in stock.
