About the need for a "daily driver:" I've already taken care of that.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk to my office (at the U of
California, San Diego), and the path takes me through Whole Foods,
where I grab a banana. If I don't feel like walking, a free shuttle
comes by every 8 minutes.

So the Vanagon, if it's to be a Vanagon, and that's how it's looking,
is for camping, picnicking, and a mobile office. It doesn't have to
daily drive.
