I installed a Shurflo faucet in my '84:

It works perfectly.  The faucet moves up and down, left and right,
and twists to make it easier to wash large items.  It goes all the
way down into the sink when I need to close up the kitchen.

My installation is a bit of a kluge.  I'll probably go back and do it
better someday.
