the first tornado red van i saw up close was at the pittsburgh vintage grand prix a few years ago. I went up to the owner and introduced myself and told him about out Pittsburgh Vanagon Club, and started inquiring about his van.... I asked if this was the original paint, as it was VERY clean. I also asked if it was the original engine and if he'd ever had head gasket problems. His answer to both questions was "I would hope its all original, it has SEVEN THOUSAND MILES ON IT". This guy bought it new, and uses it like once a month to drive to the grocery store! I hope i find this coming up for sale sometime soon : ) my dream van is a tornado red carat, converted syncro, converted westy. Or just a Syncro westy painted tornado red..... but we all know I find way to much joy in cutting things up/converting them. : ) Benny Boy's van is painted tornado red isn't it? It looks good either way! -Craig '85GL turned WESTY BOSTIG in the back On Thu, Dec 10, 2009 at 11:13 PM, Mark Hineline <hineline@helix.ucsd.edu>wrote: > Okay, now I'm seriously in love.
