Thanks SO MUCH for this!  I've got a bunch of 1.6 diesels (Vanagon,
Jetta, Pickup) and most have coolant leaks.

I'm looking to pick up a pressure tester, any recommendations?

Maybe the Stant Inc. 12270 Cooling System and Pressure Cap Tester Set?

I'm having a hard time figuring out if it has adapters for the various
generations of VW diesels:  '82 vanagon diesel (standard radiator
cap??), '83 vanagon diesel (same threads as a rabbit maybe? - although I
haven't found this adapter yet),  '91 Jetta seems to have a $65 #12028
adapter.  Whew!

Opinions?
