Mark, with all due respect, I think your opinion would be different if you got screwed out of 20 grand. If I went to a car dealer and bought an expensive used vehicle and then was told said vehicle is stolen and I can't have get money back... things would get ugly quick. The charity benefiting from the auction should pay back the German guy first, and then use any surplus to their benefit. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of mark drillock Sent: Friday, December 18, 2009 10:00 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: More Prhyeday Phollowup on BUs Stolen 35 Years Ago I guess the buyer should have used a service such as this one. I wonder if buyers of GoWesty price level Vanagons do so. http://www.autocheck.com/consumers/product-features/titleguard/coverage.do It is an imperfect world. Sometimes somebody has to lose out. Governments are imperfect as well. Maybe we should all take up a collection for the poor disappointed buyer, wherever he is. I'm not serious. Mark
