Six months to the day I've been rebuilding the engine on my 86 westy. Got the tranny linkage working again (that pesky RUBBER part in the linkage had dropped out and was in my ??? parts bin). here's the remaining problem: idle slowly runs up to 2000 and hovers around 1800-2000. Tap the gas pedal, it drops off to 1000 then works up to 2000 again. Hesitation and lack of power up to about 2500 then revs up smoothly and normally to peak rpm. Wot's wrong?
