HUGE resource of this "issue" discussed in the vanagon archives. Here is just one resource. http://www.neksiwel.20m.com/custom.html Even with the brighter light out put from adding the relays you still get a poor light pattern because of the reflector design problem of the OE lights. Simply google what you have put in your subject line and start reading. I use 80/100 bulbs now, with the relays and it's better but not nearly as good/effective as E-code lights/buckets. Lotsa volks switch to the earlier vanagon round lights which are effective and can be improved with brighter lights. http://www.frankcondelli.com/hdltrela.htm http://www.vanagon.com/info/articles/ http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/page_866 http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A1=ind9903a&L=vanagon bob On Sat, Jan 9, 2010 at 11:38 AM, Michael Kimball <kimballmk@gmail.com>wrote: > The headlights on my 1987 Westy are useless.
