it does say 'extract him from the vehicle' suggesting he may have been belted in. and besides..............ALL vanagon driver's wear their seatbelts, right !! ? on Oregon, fwiw, the newspaper reports often say if the people had their seat belts on or not. . I haven't seen any pictures of this crash ... but often, when it's a bad crash , particularly rollovers, if they weren't wearing belts, they often get ejected from the vehicle. since they had to 'extract' him from the wreck I lean toward suspecting he was belted. not much info, it just says 'driving on ice, and slid off the road'. No idea if that means a rollover, or he smashed straight into a rock or a tree or whatever. At least the guy made it to 74 years old....way, way longer than many people make it to. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Grebneff" <goose1047@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, January 19, 2010 1:31 PM Subject: Re: Moab man dies in I-70 crash >> http://tinyurl.com/y8ghfv6 > > > What's the bet this turkey wasn't wearing his seatbelt? > > > -- > Regards > Andrew Grebneff > Dunedin > New Zealand > Fossil preparator > Mollusc, Toyota & VW van fan
