I wouldn't want to actually kill a potential thief but I wouldn't mind if
they had to limp away from my vehicle.

Perhaps something medieval like a bear trap?

Ahh yes a kill switch...
You must mean a switch that when set off kills the potential thief!
I like it!
I'll have to add that to my to do list!
LOL

I don't want to start another security thread, but something to
consider is the fact that many thieves will often return to the
vehicle to "finish" the job. I would think about a fuel pump kill
switch, if for nothing else, peace of mind that your Multivan won't
get stolen again. My wife's car, when we lived in San Francisco, got
broken into a total of 11 times and stolen once in a period of less
than 5 years. At least 4 of the break-ins were "return trips" for the
thief. He knew where the car was and that there would be a new(er)
stereo in it two weeks later. Break -ins are bad enough but having
your Vanagon stolen would be horrible. A kill switch is a simple way
to prevent it from happening (again).
