I have installed probably 10 of these over the years (the job I hate the most but no one else around here can do it). They all wind up pretty tight but I think this is normal. The only ones I have ever had any problems with are the canvas for the early pop top (80-85). These are the ones that use the tack strips instead of the screws on the top. I have never had one of these fit right in the rear corners. Each time I had to add some wooden blocks in the corners to get these things to fit right. They were so tight in the rear corners that you would have to stretch them to the point of ripping just to get them in place and I didn't want to do that. The later model tents were a little tight but all fit properly. Just my experience.
