Is it bad luck, empathy, or did reading about other heater blower issues lately bring them upon my own van :-)

My front blower motor stopped working in my '86 GL. The strange thing is, occasionally it will start working if I hit a bump in the road. Then it will run for a while (maybe 10 or so minutes) and stop again. I did notice that right before it stops it it starts sounding hesitant or choppy. After that it won't come on till the next time I drive.

Maybe a bad ground or something?
