My ex gave mixed reviews to my 1976 bus. For nearly a year, she flatly
objected to my getting a bus, but finally relented when she saw that
the obsession was not going to pass any other way. When the engine
blew up, she bought me new cylinders, pistons, and a head. She never
drove it, but she cried when I gave it away (a sacrifice required to
further her career climb).

When I get a Vanagon/Westy later this year, it will be a litmus test
for anyone I date. I _hope_ it'll be a babe magnet, too, for "babes"
of a certain stripe.
