And Rowan, I stand corrected.  I just sent out another message retracting my
original message.  Because of several very civil and knowledgeable responses
like yours I did a little more investigation (that I should have done
before) and figured out what I was seeing and that in most cases the thread
was not being broken.  My initial post was prompted by broken threads on
another Yahoo Group (totally unrelated to Vanagons) where many threads are
broken, apparently by the actions of some of the members, and not by the
email programs being used.
