Ark, Current is Power(watts)/Volts. A 60 watt lamp needs .5 amp at 120 volts. A 120 volt inverter will draw 5 amps + efficiency losses to run that bulb. A 100 watt lamp will need 8.3 amps + from a 12 volt supply regardless of whether the inverter is 110 or 220. A lamp with 60 watts output draws 1.2 amperes. A lot of light! I even use occasionally 100 watts lamp. In Portugal I bought 220 volt Philips super-light bulbs. A 75 watts bulb draws .90 amps. I run my bulbs with 12/220 volts inverter. Excellent quality , pleasant color temperature light. I will wait till LED will be much cheaper. I think these days inverter assisted lighting is a very good alternative. Ark
