These two products are excellent for sealing up everything on the waterboxer. I have used Loctite and Permatex versions of the same 518. Both work very well. I have not had a leak at the rear heater core flange since using this product. The Right Stuff seems to be the answer for head gaskets. ________________________________ From: Benny boy <huotb@VIDEOTRON.CA> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Fri, March 5, 2010 8:40:01 PM Subject: Re: Loctite 518 uses on Vanagon? It's now Permatex 51813, maybe your confusing 51531 http://www.permatex.com/documents/GasketMakerSelector.pdf The tube is blue but the stuff is red. That with The Right Stuff is all I use in the shop. Where, mostly on coolant flange on top of using the cheap Reinz paper gasket. Ben http://www.benplace.com/vw2.htm
