did the memory foam mattress topper route also (maybe 1.5 -2" thick) on top berth on wife's insistence. Personally, I found the upper berth ok after the first few nights :) despite a history of 2 herniated disks, (and being sort of heavy 195#, 6-2. But I like a firm bed, its my monk like living habits, ha!) What was really comfy for me was a mattress cover made from fleece. the memory foam is noticeably warmer (and the fleece adds to that), which can be a good or bad thing depending on weather. the foam topper would be folded up and would fit in the rear 1/3 of upper berth when top down. alistair '86 syncro 7 passenger '82 westy, diesel converted to gas in '94 http://www.members.shaw.ca/albell/ http://shufti.wordpress.com On 10-Mar-10, at 6:51 PM, Jeff Lincoln wrote: Wow - I appreciate all the replies. I think we'll go with a denseer foam covered with a bit of memory foam - per Roger's suggestion. I guess I could have been clearer too - I'm looking for something that we will make to go directly into the rear cusion cover. Because we have the cover but no padding in it. My friend and PO of the new bus wanted to keep that - understandably because he made it special. -- Thanks, Jeff '85 GL (Gertie) '90 Carat (Grover - the noble parts donor) '86 (We call this one Scrap) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus
