Thanks to all who've replied to my thread, and everyone else too really. I have the engine and have been prepping all the old parts. This evening I cleaned up the intake manifold and associated parts and painted the manifold pipes after a lot of scrubbing and a quick rub down with acetone before painting(glossy black same as original). They look pretty good. I will be relying heavily on photographs in putting it all back together over the next couple of days. Hope I don't need luck, but I'll take any good luck wishes :) peace -Ry On Wed, Mar 10, 2010 at 2:48 PM, Robert Fisher <garciasghostvw@gmail.com>wrote: > I've found you can often find a useful photo to reference on Benny's site: > > http://www.benplace.com/ > > Cya, > Robert > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of > Jim Felder > Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2010 9:39 AM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: 86-91 labeled diagram of engine/engine compartment > > I have picture of a my 90 and access (sometimes) to my daughter's 91. > Ask away if you get in a jam. > > Jim > > On Wed, Mar 10, 2010 at 11:10 AM, Ry <rylincoln@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi everybody, > > getting ready to install rebuilt motor in 1991 carat this weekend. i was > > out there yesterday and noticed a few of my labels i made when removing > the > > old engine are not readable :( i shoulda used something better. > > > > I took several photos before removal, however before the weekend hits > > thought I'd ask ... does anyone know where a diagram with labels for the > > engine relevant to a 1991 vanagon carat?
