I think you need at least a cracked or ruined mirror glass with the attachment stuff intact and then you can get the stick-on replacement glass to go over the top of the old glass. There is a seller on Ebay listing new stick-on glass for Vanagon mirrors. 2 sizes are listed, $20 shipped. I have not tried them and don't know which size works with the power mirrors or that either do. Measure carefully. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/80-92-VW-VANAGON-PASSENGER-MIRROR-GLASS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad6e8c483QQitemZ390152635523QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/80-92-VW-VANAGON-PASSENGER-MIRROR-GLASS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem439d9e9e86QQitemZ290407227014QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Mark David Wilhite wrote: > I've got a power mirror housing that's missing the mirror and the cost of a replacement mirror is too much for me, so I may have to rig up another mirror plate. Does anybody have a picture of what the backside of a power mirror insert looks like? Better yet, has anyone made their own insert? > > > > Thanks, > > David Wilhite > > 84' Westy > > Middle TN >
