Simple Green is the answer for everything. Spray it on full strength, let sit 10,15,20 or so minutes and hose off. Even better, agitate with a brush before rinsing. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Edward Maglott Sent: Thursday, March 25, 2010 10:13 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Leaking Torque Converter Seal- Fixed I seek list wisdom on cleaning the oily residue off of the items that have been sprayed with hot ATF. I especially would like to prevent damage to the hoses, thermostat housing, wiring harnesses in that area. Should I even clean it? If so with what? I was thinking maybe some purple degreaser cleaner in some dilution, mop it around with a brush and rinse with hot water? Edward
