Subject:Re: [WetWesties] 1.9L Vanagon Engine Turn Key Weight (HELP!!!)
From:Max Wellhouse

I shipped my 2.1 core to Boston Bob from Little
Rock back in 2001 for like $100 using a truck
line andthey usually go in increments of 100
pounds, not individual pounds like UPS. I've
also had luck shipping trannies via Fedex
freight(need to find a hub near you, I drove 35
miles to ship mine). Find a pallet yard and
buy/beg/ one and build a OSB board box for the
motor and strap it down good. Having a solid lid
on it allows the freight line to stack something
else on top of it that's also on a 40x48"
pallet. Much cheaper to have the flexibility of
where they put the pallet than having to only top load it INHO.

YMMV
