I removed my spare since it is smaller than my tires and would not fit over
 my disk brakes anyway.  Should the stock tire and rim be in place for
extra  crash protection?  What have others done with this wasted space?  I  have
heard of a custom fuel tank to fit but that would make it like an early
Pinto in reverse.
