Good looking stuff. Now i want to see how you are going to mount the gauges. In my other van I had 3 VDO gauges in the adjustable pods, in a group to right of binnacle, I'd like to do something nicer. Herman made a very nice mount, see here: http://vanagonsyncroproject-herman.blogspot.com/ (lots to admire on that site!) I'm less than enthused about mounting gauges on vertical front of dash sheet metal, but perhaps that is the easiest for the aircraft gauges? alistair On 7-Apr-10, at 7:24 AM, Steve Williams wrote: At 12:04 PM 4/6/2010, Alistair Bell wrote: > ... a handy auxillary fuse panel ... I've been procrastinating for months on installing a fuse block in my Westy. I have all the parts. Just need to get to it. I got the fuse block from B&C Specialty Products, who sell various hard-to-find parts to the aircraft home-builders. They have spade fuse blocks from six to 20 positions: http://www.bandc.biz/circuit-protective-devices.aspx And I have one of their ground blocks, too. No more "bad ground" problems! http://www.bandc.biz/groundblock24-tab.aspx Finally, I bought an aircraft volt/ammeter and a shunt for each battery, so I can see the charge/load current more precisely: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/westduals10.php To protect the wires from the shunts to the ammeter, I'll use B&C's low-current fusible links, a handy alternative to the four (!) fuses that would otherwise be required: http://www.bandc.biz/fusiblelinkkit24-20awg.aspx
